Palani Murugan Temple

Palani Murugan Temple

Palani Murugan Temple in Palani is one of the oldest temples of Lord Subramania, the son of the Shiva Parvati. Durga Temple is also known as "Dhandayuthapani Temple" due to the presence of Sri Murugan. Lord Bhagavan is famous in Tamilnadu as "Pazhani Adaavan". The name "Palani" is said to have originated from the word "gentle" meaning "fruit of knowledge". Subramanya is considered wise.

67km from Palakkad via Pollachi and train route; From Ernakulam to Chalakkudy-Valparai or Munnar, or from Thrissur to Vadakkanchery-Nemmara. The temple is located in the hill town of Palani, about 294 km away from Kottayam, via Kompanni-Theni. The Thiruvinam-Kutty shrine is one of the six temples dedicated to Lord Muruga of Sree Muruga. There is a Shankmughan, a six-faced goddess of Subrahmanya. Palaniya Murugan used to build the idol of Pazhani Murugan, a special wool, made up of nine siddha drugs called the Navashashanas. So the devotees believe that the sanctum sanctorum of the panchamrutam and sandalam is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The evening "Rajalankara Pooja" which carries the royal form of Bhagwana (Nursery) is believed to be a blessing. The main offerings here are to pick up the "kawadi" and disassemble your hair. Heads down with a symbol of leaving me with pride in Jagadishwar. The Panchamrutham and Vibhuti (Bhasam) are delighted. During the month of December (January 15-15), many devotees visit this temple. "Thaipuyayam" is the main festival of the thirteenth day. On that day, the rituals of the devotees take place at the elephant rays of Bhagwan. It is believed that the view of the modern-day Pazhani Murugan will satisfy all the troubles.

Narada Maharishi once visited the divine Kailash Mount of Lord Shiva. At this point, Naradan gave him a "wise time". It is a fruit that is considered to be the Amrita for knowledge. When he wanted to cut his sons, Ganapathy and Kartikeyan, he wished to cut the precious fruit of the fruit when it was narrated by Narada. In the difficult period, Lord Shiva decided to give the fruit to his intelligent son. He who comes out of this world in three spheres will give him the fruits. On hearing this, Lord Subramanian went out to make his way around the world.

But the god Ganesha and his parents Parameswara and Parvati are equal to the universe; Three times through them, they believe that the world is full of nature and superficiality. Mahadeva, the happiest of his son, gave him to the bridegroom of wisdom. When Karthikeyan returned, he became angry with his effort. Kartikeyan decided to leave Kailash mountain with anger and anguish. And that's how he came to the palace. Parents who came to call him back to Calais, asked him to salute Karthikeyan, "You are the fruit. From this you have licked the fruit of this region and got the name Palani.

Bhagur, one of the 18 Siddha saints, is believed to have installed the idol of Lord Murugan at Palani. This was a special mix of "neo-shashane." This is a very fast-paced chemical composition. So the sculptor quickly began to work for the celestial beauty. Nonetheless, he took a long time to finish the face of the idol, in a very special way. Therefore, the other parts of the idol could not be as beautiful as the face. The face of Murukaswamy can be seen in the face of the face and the balance of the rest of the body, in the case of beauty.

A shrine of Bhogar Maharshi is also set up in the south-western corridor of the temple. It is considered to be the Bhagavas's Samadhi. The shrine of this beautiful palace is connected to a cave inside the hill. It is here that he believes that he will be meditated with the Ashtadiks.

Another legend associated with the temple is related to the emperor Cheraman Perumal. After the construction of the temple, the forest vanished in the forest without notice. Cheraman Perumal, who ruled the region between the second and fifth centuries, joined his regular hawk and joined the Palani Hill. The Subramanian Swamiji appeared in the dream of the king who slept with fatigue. He ordered Swamy to find his idol and establish it in the old way. The king woke up from his sleep, searching for the idol behind it and found the idol of Subrahmanya Swamy, who was hiding behind it. The king made the idol firmly established and worshiped. It is now in a stupa in the wall surrounding the temple.

The Subramaniam idol is said to have been fixed by a mixture of nine objects. The idol is made just as Murugan did in ancient times. Murugan was a Balakandan and came to his parents. The idol is the dress of a headed heated tank. Just a piece of clothes. In the hands of the torso From this he got the name Bala-Dand-Ardapani.

The idol has been found in the palace of the west to Dikshit. The idol is set up east as a vision in ordinary Hindu temples. Today's Kerala, the Chera Empire, is spread out in the west. It is believed that Cheraman Perumal placed the vision of the idol behind its west. Here is a belief that the Lord has special affection for the Malayalees. Also, the ears of the idol of Subrahmanya Swamy are larger than normal. There are various decorative elements of Balan, a saint, a hunter, a king. It is auspicious to see the royal palace. They see Muruka in the Navagrahas. The temple is considered to be very much like the sixth flourishing of the temple. "Om Saramana Bhava" or "Om Vidhbubhayye" The Muruganams are celebrated during the Praditioning. He is also known by the names Skandan, Sivapookan, Velayudhan, Andavan.

The idol is located in the cradle in the sanctum sanctorum. The priests of the community have the right to approach and seek idols. This inheritance will be passed on to generations through generations. Others have the right to arrive at the sanctum sanctorum. But the helpers of the priests can enter the sanctuary, and have no access to the ceremony. The priests of the "pandaram" community have been the helpers of the priesthood.

The temple is located on one of the two hills in Palani. The jungle paths in the hills had previously led the devotees to the temple. Devotees used the route that the elephants traveled. Also, there were some stone tablets on the mountain. The pilgrims climbed the hill before coming to the hands of the sacred water to be offered in the Vigra. The priests walked up the hill. But the road was not used by the devotees, and they used the other opposite side of it. But in the last half-century, more stone blocks have been created to facilitate the climax. In addition, a funicular railway system has also been installed. This system, which runs through big iron, is a great relief for the climbers of the hills and adolescents.

The shrine of the temple is made of old Chera craftsmanship. But the surrounding temple, the sculpture, reminds of the Pandyan period and their influence. On the wall of the sanctum sanctorum, ancient Tamil scriptures are engraved with numerous deities. The golden doorway is placed above the sanctum sanctorum. The sculptures of Murukan and the deities are carved on this site.

In the sanctum sanctorum, there are temples for Subramanya's parents Parameshwari and Parvathy. To this end, the main altar of the Pazhani Murugan Temple is the Samadhi of Bhoga Maharishi. There is also a shrine of Lord Ganesha from Vigneshwar.

The main worship system is the anointing of the image. Anoint the idol with various kinds of lamps. After anointment with oil, sandalwood oil and milk, anoint again in pure water. This anointing is done on special occasions of the day.

Vizha Pooja - Morning Pooja
at noon - midday pooja.
Saaarkshai - The evening pooja.
Nightclub - Pooja with Radar. (Just before closing the temple).
In the temple there is a big bell in the temple to commemorate the devotees during these puja. In the calm atmosphere, Palani City can hear this deck.

After the anointing, the idol is a ceremony where the idol is decorated. It is decoration. Most of the idols are made in the form of Murugan who came from the royal palace of his father to the old age. Besides, Bhagavan is adorned with festivals and placed in golden chariots and oranges around the shrine. It will be devotee and carry this chariot. It is considered sacred by the devotees.

The rituals are

the main custom in the temple. The removal of this hair removal would be similar to the head of the child's head. It is a method for the devotees to keep the sunlight shading in the evening and keep it all night.

The temple will be shut for sometime in the afternoon and at night. Since Balakrishnan is dedicated to him, it is believed that Balak is a sleepy man. This is because Lord Bhagavan feels tired and faint with the devotees.

Another legend is that every day in the temple of Lord Bhagavan, the temple records are heard from the high priest. Thereafter, only the Lord goes to the mosque.

Festivals

Apart from the daily pujas, the Palani Murugan Temple is also celebrated with lots of festivals.

Tai Pooyam
role in uttiram
vaikasi-Visakham
Zur-destruction
Palaiyam is celebrated with great pomp and festival. The festival is celebrated on the full moon day of the Thai month (January 15 - February 15) in the Tamil calendar. According to the Skanda Purana, the goddess Murugan is celebrated on the day of the death of Tarakasura in the world. Devotees from far and near towns and villages come here by foot. They came to visit Bhagawan to pay their heads. The devotees are keen to preserve the belief that Hidimba is a monster that has brought him on his shoulders. Hidimban was a dependency of Balamurunu. Some devotees rely on water to anoint the Lord. It is called the Theertha-Kavadi.

The controversy

Many believed that some of the idols had been performed due to continuous stream and anointing, and the temptation to which they had been infected. But the priests and some people said that there is no truth in it. They could not see any change in the idol. But later on, it was decided that a new idol should be installed. Moreover, it was decided to stop some of the anointing. Experts said that it would prevent the debris from being destroyed. On January 27, 2004, a 100-kilogram weighing a new idol was started. But with strong opposition from conservative devotees, it was decided to stay in the old idol.

Poojas

The shrine opens up to the devotees for the purpose from 6.00 am to 8.00 pm. The festivities will be held at 4:30 am.
