Palani Murugan Temple

Palani Murugan Temple Palani Murugan Temple in Palani is one of the oldest temples of Lord Subramania, the son of the Shiva Parvati.  Durga Temple is also known as "Dhandayuthapani Temple" due to the presence of Sri Murugan.  Lord Bhagavan is famous in Tamilnadu as "Pazhani Adaavan".  The name "Palani" is said to have originated from the word "gentle" meaning "fruit of knowledge".  Subramanya is considered wise. 67km from Palakkad via Pollachi and train route;  From Ernakulam to Chalakkudy-Valparai or Munnar, or from Thrissur to Vadakkanchery-Nemmara.  The temple is located in the hill town of Palani, about 294 km away from Kottayam, via Kompanni-Theni.  The Thiruvinam-Kutty shrine is one of the six temples dedicated to Lord Muruga of Sree Muruga.  There is a Shankmughan, a six-faced goddess of Subrahmanya.  Palaniya Murugan used to build the idol of Pazhani Murugan, a special wool, made up of nine siddha drugs called the N

Parthasarathy Temple - Aranmula

Parthasarathy Temple Aranmula Sri Parthasarathy Temple is one of the oldest temples in Kerala.  The temple is located on the banks of the holy Pampa in Aranmula, Pathanamthitta.  The main deity is the Sri Krishna Sathmam (the sacred shrine) who is worshiped in the form of the Vishnu.  The temple is in the Aranmula panchayath and the front portion of the temple is Mallappuzha panchayath.  Aranmula Vallamada is an important event for the wishes of the devotees.  It is believed that the blessings of Lord Bhagwan will be enjoyed during the funeral service.  The Aranmula Temple is a sacred temple dedicated to Thiruvonathonai, Ashtamirihani Valla Sadha, Uthatatti Vallam, Vanni Pattanam and Pampa River.  Aranmula mirror is famous.  Every year, a procession carrying a golden coat to surrender to Ayyappa idol in Sabarimala begins from Parthasarathy Temple.  The famous Aranmula Vallamkali is celebrated here.  There are several wall paintings depicting artists from the 18th century.
